Based on Vancouver Island, Dave Hutchison creates compelling visual stories of the natural world through both ground and aerial perspectives, producing distinctive photography that inspires meaningful connection with collectors.
Dave has travelled to the Yukon, Italy, several US states, the Great Bear Rainforest, as well as remote areas on Vancouver Island. He is an educator and offers landscape & wildlife photography workshops and private photo tours on Vancouver Island. He also has 20 years of photography experience and over 25 years of business experience, as well as hundreds of images published in books, magazines, calendars, and merchandise worldwide. Recently, Dave and his wife and I published (February 2025) a BC Bestselling book, Vancouver Island: The Art of the Landscape. It was a dream for both to publish a high quality coffee table book celebrating Vancouver Island. Dave also has commercial clients that love his nature imagery including the new Nanaimo General Hospital, the Sidney Waterfront Inn & Suites, and the upcoming Cowichan Valley Regional Hospital. He is also a Transport Canada Advanced Operations licensed drone pilot.
